Chartway Federal Credit Union Completes Build-To-Suit Project In Chesapeake |
|
Chartway Federal Credit Union completed a 3,200 square foot build-to-suit project in the Eden Way Business Center in Chesapeake. The construction was handled by Mid Eastern Builders, Inc. (MEB). The branch is a freestanding building that provides drive through access for customers. The property was purchased to relocate an existing credit union branch in Chesapeake to the Greenbrier area to better serve its customers. Advantis Real Estate Services Company negotiated the sale of the .637-acre parcel at the corner of Eden Way and Stephanie Way in the Eden Way Business Center in Chesapeake. David Machupa represented the buyer, Chartway Federal Credit Union and Bill Overman represented the seller, CAE, LLC, both agents are with Advantis’ Norfolk office. |

SUFFOLK
Two recently completed historic restorations continue the emerging trend of big-city-style loft living in downtown Suffolk.
The old Montgomery Ward department store on North Main Street and the former Thomas Jefferson School on Finney Avenue at the foot of Clay Street have undergone massive makeovers, resulting in condos with vintage charm and modern amenities.

Just-started CBN building is filling up already |

One of the largest television ministries in the world is expanding its ever-growing facilities.
The Christian Broadcasting Network broke ground on Metroplex One last month. The two-story, 35,000-square-foot facility, at Regent University Drive and Midtowne Way on the CBN campus, is already more than 80 percent leased, Eric Keplinger, business development manager for Mid-Eastern Builders, said.

Like a seed planted and nourished in fertile soil, the Christian Broadcasting Network continues to grow.
Metroplex One, a 32,500-square-foot, two-story, multitenant brick office building, recently opened at the intersection of Regent University Drive and Midtowne Way on land leased from CBN.
According to Tom Atherton, vice president of Mid-Eastern Builders, the first tenant occupied the office complex in October. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held Jan. 14.

This exhibit will further establish the Virginia Zoo as a world class organization while increasing educational opportunities for Hampton Roads residents and tourists, and further developing its participation in conservation programs that protect the welfare of animals. |

Groundbreaking for Metroplex One Facility |

Virginia Beach- Mid Eastern Builders (MEB) held a ceremonial groundbreaking ceremony on Wednesday, May 7, 2008 for the Metroplex One office building. Metroplex One is a two story, 35,000 SF, multi-tenant facility located at the intersection of Regent University Drive and Midtowne Way on the campus of the Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN). Completion is expected by October of this year and future tenants will include the American Center for Law and Justice, Trinity Broadcasting Network, and Regent University’s School of Global Leadership and Entrepreneurship. |

Chesapeake, VA. MEB General Contractors has completed the largest EDR (Electrodialysis reversal) system in the United States, at the G. Robert House Jr. Water Treatment Plant in Suffolk. Internationally, Suffolk’s system is second only to a project currently in design for Barcelona, Spain. Additionally, the $46 million contract is the largest the City has awarded in its history. The project combines an expansion of the existing treatment plant, a new well source and a pipeline connecting the two. |

MEB General Contractors Partners with Timmons Group and Southampton County to Build Waste Water Treatment Plant |

Chesapeake, VA. MEB is constructing the Courtland Waste Water Treatment Plant in Southampton County as a Public-Private project contracted through the Commonwealth’s PPEA legislation. The Public-Private Education and Infrastructure Act (PPEA) of 2002 allows private sector businesses to partner with public entities, utilizing their expertise on public projects to save time and money. The law created resources to fund a comprehensive range of public projects and encourages innovative approaches to financing such work. MEB partnered with Timmons Group engineers to submit an unsolicited proposal to Southampton County in an effort to meet their growing waste water needs. |
