The project will replace aging fuel tanks and is scheduled for completion in 2012. MEB will demolish seven above grade fuel storage tanks and construct five new 80,000 barrel JP-5 tanks. The existing underground piping will be demolished and replaced with a new above grade system. The new tanks will be constructed in the “footprint” of the existing tanks after their demolition.
